For a $1 one time payment you get a free consult and a demo deck you can actually show people, built around your own project rather than a sample one.

This page has two halves. The top half is the plain version: what your $1 gets you, what we need from you to build it, and how to join. The bottom half is the membership agreement itself — the part that actually binds you — written out in full so you can read it before you pay: membership agreement.

The $1 is membership dues, not a deposit against work, and it does not commit you or us to a project. That starts separately, once you know what you want.

What your $1 gets you¶

A free consult. A conversation about your project, where we work out together what you actually need and what the finished thing has to do.
A demo deck. Short slides that tell the story of your project and why it is worth doing.
The working demo inside the deck. The slides hold a real, running version of the software, not pictures of it, so you can click through it in a meeting. It runs on the free plan of a hosting company, behind a sign-in screen. You can show it to an investor, a colleague or a fellow member, and you can publish or forward the deck itself as widely as you like.
A place in the club. You get to see what other members are building, and ask questions about it.

What the demo is built from¶

The demo is yours, so it is built from your material, not ours. Before the consult, you send:

The pages you want. All of them, or just the one that matters most. A short list beats a complete one: we would rather go deep on the screen your end users will actually use.
The functions each page has to do. In plain words. "Someone can see their invoices" is more use than a list of field names.
A sample or template website to mimic. A URL of something whose look, layout or behaviour you want copied. Say what to copy and what to leave out — "the way it filters a list, but none of the colours" is a perfectly good answer, and a much more useful one than "make it look like this."
Who is going to use it, and the one thing that simply has to work.

Please only send material you have the right to share. Screenshots of another party's product, a competitor's site, or a third-party customer list are not yours to hand over.

What the demo is, and what it is not¶

It is worth being straight about this, because the demo is the part that gets exciting.

It is: a working version of the idea, real enough to click, real enough to demo, and real enough to find out what you actually want. Most projects change shape once you can see them moving, and that is the point of doing this before committing to a build.

It is not: the finished product. Not every function will be built, some will be simplified, and the demo is not hardened for real data, real users or real uptime. There is no backup promise, no availability guarantee, and no service level attached to it. You should not make any decision to depend on it.

Nothing here is a promise of a timeline or a price. Those go in a separate written scope, once you know what you want.

The membership agreement¶

Monads.Club (the "Association") is a private membership association formed under the principles of voluntary association and freedom of contract. It operates exclusively in the private domain, by and between consenting members.

Membership is entered into by voluntary consent. By joining, a member knowingly and willingly asserts and stands upon their state and federal constitutionally secured rights, including those secured by the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments, and conducts their affairs privately.

The Association is not a public commercial enterprise, does not hold itself out as one, and does not conduct business in the public domain. Nothing in this agreement constitutes a public offering. All activities, services, and communications are provided solely to consenting members by and between members.

The Association does not seek, and does not require, any government license, permit, or regulatory approval to operate. This agreement is a private contract between the Association and the member, and is governed by the common law of contracts and the principles of freedom of association.

For a $1 one time payment a member receives a free consult and a demo deck they can actually show people, built around their own project rather than a sample one.

The $1 is membership dues. It is not a deposit against work, and it does not commit either party to a project. Work begins only when the member and the Association separately agree a scope and a price in a distinct written agreement.

The club rules¶

The member may share their own deck freely. The deck and the working demo inside it are theirs. They may show both to clients, investors, colleagues and anyone else they choose, publish the deck online, and send it to anyone at all. Where the working demo sits behind a sign-in, the member decides who gets access. None of this needs permission from the Association.
The member keeps other members to themselves. What another member brings to the club is theirs: their name, their project, their figures, their screenshots, what they are paying. Members may ask each other about the work as much as they like, but what they learn about another member does not travel outside the club. This is a working club, not a gossip mill, and no member here wants to be talked about.
Membership is personal. The member does not resell it, lend it, or pass their access to someone else.
No selling to each other. No spam, no recruitment posts, and no pitching anything to other members. The club is for the software, not the marketing.

Membership and the $1¶

Dues are a $1 one time payment.
Cancel whenever you like.
Refunds: [NOT REFUNDABLE once paid. This one depends on your jurisdiction, so get it checked before you take anyone's money.]
If member cancels, or is asked to leave, the membership lapses quietly and the member's access to club material ends. Nothing is deleted from the member's demo or their files hosted on their own infrastructure, but the Association stops publishing to them.

Member information¶

The Association keeps what the member gives it: the member's name, email address, and the pages, functions, URLs and files they send for the demo.

The Association uses it to build the member's demo, to email the member about their membership, and to let the member into the club. That is all.

The Association does not sell it, and does not share it with other members. Other members see a member's demo only if that member chooses to show it to them, which is a separate thing the member can do or not do at any time.

The member can ask the Association at any time what it holds, ask it to correct it, or ask it to delete it — except for records the Association keeps to evidence that the membership existed, which are the basics of name, date joined, and date lapsed.

Member acknowledgments¶

The member acknowledges and agrees:

The demo is provided as is, as available. The Association does not warrant that it is fit for any particular purpose, that it will be available when the member needs it, or that it is error-free.
The Association is not liable for decisions the member or any third party makes based on the demo or on this page.
Where the parties cannot exclude liability by agreement, the Association's total liability to the member for anything to do with the club is limited to the $1 the member paid in dues.
Joining the club does not oblige the member to engage the Association for any project, and does not oblige the Association to take on the member's project. Both of those are separate, voluntary agreements.
The member enters this relationship as a private individual acting under their own constitutional rights, not as a consumer in a public commercial transaction.

Acceptance and signature¶

By paying the $1, the member voluntarily consents to the terms on this page: the nature of the association, the club rules, the membership and money payment terms, the limits on what the demo is, and the member acknowledgments. The member affirms that they enter this private contractual relationship of their own free will, without coercion, and in assertion of their constitutional right of private association and the writ of contract.

If the member does not agree with these terms, they do not pay, and nothing here applies to them.
